Loveseat

UX/UI & IxD

Loveseat is a furniture warehouse that wanted to establish an online sales presence through a custom-designed ecommerce website. As the contracted UX and visual designer, I led the end-to-end design process for the new Loveseat.com site.

My Role

  • Stakeholder interviews to understand business requirements

  • Competitive analysis of other furniture ecommerce sites

  • Information architecture and sitemaps for core user flows

  • Low and high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes

  • Visual brand identity design

  • UI design and development of all site templates and pages

  • Custom illustration and graphics

Goals and Challenges

The main goals for the Loveseat.com redesign were to:

  • Create an intuitive and seamless online shopping experience for customers to browse inventory, customize orders, and purchase furniture for delivery or in-store pickup

  • Effectively showcase Loveseat's selection of furniture to attract and convert new online customers

  • Support business goals of increasing online sales and expanding customer reach beyond the local area

Key challenges included:

  • Translating an in-person warehouse shopping model into an ecommerce context

  • Displaying a large furniture catalog in a user-friendly way across desktop and mobile

  • Designing a smooth checkout process tailored for large/bulky items

Impact

Within 6 months after launching, Loveseat.com had seen a 61% increase in online sales, with a 300% YOY increase in new online customers. Site visitor-to-order conversion had doubled.

Sketches - Product Page

I sketched out the general flow and UI components to make sure all requirements were covered and discussed  iterations with owner and stakeholders, before translating my sketches into a digital format using Sketch.
